Bush Treck oil painting started, first layers going on , have a lot more to go yet. This is a scene from the South Island of New Zealand,( Middle Earth), I walked this track with my family last summer , its called the Routeburn Track, world famous for its beauty, many tourists and New Zealanders visit it every year. This scene was from our last day walking out . It takes 3 days to complete with Hutts to stay in along the way, walking through mountainous terrain.
I applied several layers of paint with my palette knife and some brush work to soften areas.
